I was talking with my brother-in-law the other day about why it's important to him that his babies are breastfed. (Did I mention I come from a well-informed family?) And I realized that although we all have the same set of macro reasons that drive us, we prioritize them differently. So, inspired by a similar list in The Milk Memos, here's a list of what I love about breastfeeding.
- An emotional connection
- Short-term health benefits to Aaron (he hasn't been sick yet!)
- An activity to "do" with Aaron. How many funny faces and goofy sounds can I make in a day?
- Knowing he's getting perfect nutrition, all the time
- Long-term health benefits to Aaron
- Knowing I've got the goods that will calm him when all else fails
- The food's always ready, wherever I am. No prep, no cleanup, no need to think ahead.
- Health benefits to me

Why I breastfeed
You forgot a few reasons -
You don't have to warm up a bottle in the middle of the night
You can just plug the baby in and go back to sleep
You can nurse with one hand and type your blog with the other.
